In Ohio, USA, a 24-year-old man was arrested by the police after attending high school while concealing his real age. It was revealed that the man even has a child, and suspicions have been raised that he may have engaged in these actions in an attempt to escape his undocumented status.

According to recent reports from local media outlets such as ABC News, Perrysburg police arrested Anthony Emmanuel Labradoro Sierra (24) on May 19 on charges including forgery and fraud.
Last November, Sierra contacted the Perrysburg Board of Education and claimed that he was an unaccompanied homeless youth from Venezuela and a victim of human trafficking. He used a forged birth certificate to change his date of birth to December 2, 2007, making it appear as if he was 16 years old. Based on this, he enrolled in high school on January 19, 2023.
A couple who learned of his story began living with Sierra on March 21, 2024, to help him, and were even granted permanent guardianship by the court. The couple reportedly had previous experience caring for exchange students or adoptees. They assisted Sierra in obtaining a Social Security number and a driver's license. For a total of one year and two months, Sierra lived as a high school student, joining the soccer and swimming teams and socializing with other students.
The fact that he was an undocumented immigrant and a 24-year-old adult came to light on May 14, when a woman contacted the couple. She stated, "Sierra is the father of my child and was actually born on March 27, 2001," providing his driver's license and photographs with their child as evidence.
The couple immediately reported the matter to the police, who requested assistance from the Border Patrol and confirmed that Sierra was indeed born in 2001 and was living in the country without legal status. His visa had already expired before he contacted Perrysburg High School.
The police tracked Sierra's vehicle and arrested him on the highway on May 20, detaining him at the Wood County Jail on charges including forgery of official documents. Sierra's next court appearance is scheduled for May 29. Authorities are investigating his motives, and some speculate that his actions were intended to escape his undocumented status.
