Focus on Practical Skills: From ICT Job Training to Employment Support and Startup Assistance
Songpa District (District Mayor Seo Kangseok) announced that it is recruiting trainees for the "ICT Industry-Based Professional Workforce Training Program" targeting young people, with the aim of fostering key talent to lead the ICT sector.
Since 2018, the district has been supporting ICT education and tailored job placement services for young people aged 19 to 39, with the goal of expanding youth employment opportunities. Last year, a total of 38 trainees completed two programs?"Practical Marketing Using AI" and "Python & Web-Based Big Data Analysis Specialist"?with 14 of them successfully securing employment.
This year, the district is placing particular emphasis on developing practical skills that can be immediately applied in the ICT industry. Two programs will be offered: the "Information Security Industry Professional Workforce Training Program" and the "Marketing-Based E-Commerce Power Seller Program." Each program will select 20 trainees, and all training will be provided free of charge.
First, in response to the rapidly increasing demand for information security jobs in institutions and companies, the "Information Security Industry Professional Workforce Training Program" has been established.
The Korea Information Security Industry Association will oversee the program, which is designed as a hands-on curriculum reflecting corporate recruitment roles such as "information security consulting," "security monitoring," and "security solution engineer." Additional benefits include a mentor-mentee practical project with information security experts, one-on-one mock interviews, individualized support for preparing application documents, and special employment lectures.
In addition, the Songpa Women's Resources Development Center will run the "Marketing-Based E-Commerce Power Seller Program." This course is suitable for young people who wish to start a business in the e-commerce sector or pursue a career in digital marketing.
The curriculum includes practical training in building smart stores, product planning, product photography and video editing, SNS marketing, and personal branding. Beyond hands-on practice, trainees will also have the unique opportunity to launch an online business themselves, further strengthening their practical capabilities.
Youth wishing to apply can do so via the respective program websites: the "Information Security Industry Professional Workforce Training Program" is open for applications until July 6, and the "Marketing-Based E-Commerce Power Seller Program" until June 16.
Seo Kangseok, Mayor of Songpa District, stated, "Through Songpa District's ICT industry-tailored education, we will actively nurture digital talent who can enhance young people's practical skills and employment competitiveness, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy." He added, "We will continue to do our utmost to expand youth employment opportunities in the district."
