“A National Cause to Stop the Criminal Lee Jaemyung’s Rampage”
Lee Junseok Rejects Unification, Says “People Power Party Is Helping Lee Jaemyung”
Na Kyungwon, a member of the National Assembly and co-chair of the People Power Party's joint election committee, urged Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, to unify their candidacies, stating, "There is not much time left."

On May 24, Na wrote on Facebook, "We must unify to block the criminal 'dictator' Lee Jaemyung," adding pressure by saying, "If we can't have the best, shouldn't we at least avoid the worst?"
She continued, "Right now, South Korea stands at a critical crossroads. If we fail to stop the reckless actions of the criminal candidate Lee Jaemyung, the country will face an irreversible crisis," emphasizing the need for unification as "a national cause to defend liberal democracy, going beyond mere political calculations."
Na added, "I believe the reason candidate Lee Junseok is in politics is ultimately to protect the great liberal Republic of Korea and its people," and warned, "If we become divided in the face of the enormous threat posed by Lee Jaemyung, the people will bear the full brunt of the consequences."
She further stated, "Conscientious democratic forces, including the Saemirae Democratic Party, are also engaging in discussions about forming an alliance to prevent Lee Jaemyung's unchecked dominance," and stressed, "This is an extraordinary situation where all forces seeking to protect South Korea's freedom and the rule of law must unite."
Na referenced the two unification methods proposed by Kim Yongtae, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, saying, "I hope that at least one of Chairman Kim's proposals?either forming a joint government or holding a 100% open primary?will be accepted for the greater good," and reiterated, "There is not much time left."
Previously, on May 23, Kim Yongtae, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated, "There are only two options for unification: either we pursue a beautiful unification and jointly lead a coalition government, or we select a unified candidate through a fair process, namely a 100% open primary."
However, candidate Lee Junseok continues to maintain a negative stance on calls for unification. He criticized the People Power Party, saying, "While I am struggling to conduct policy research and prepare for debates to rationally point out the problems in order to reduce the possibility of the dangerous Lee Jaemyung coming to power, the People Power Party is only talking about factional struggles and political engineering for unification, thereby disrupting the atmosphere." He added, "If this continues, the People Power Party will end up helping Lee Jaemyung come to power."
With the June 3 early presidential election just ten days away, the narrowing gap between Democratic Party candidate Lee Jaemyung, People Power Party candidate Kim Moonsoo, and Reform New Party candidate Lee Junseok has brought renewed attention to the possibility of a unified candidacy.
According to recent NBS and Gallup polls, support for Lee Jaemyung has been declining, while both Kim Moonsoo and Lee Junseok have seen their approval ratings rise. Based on Gallup's survey, Lee Jaemyung stands at 45%, Kim Moonsoo at 36%, and Lee Junseok at 10%. If the support rates for the two candidates are simply combined, they would reach 46%, surpassing Lee Jaemyung.
