Seol Nanyoung: "Kim Moonsoo Is Afraid of Money... Strictly Followed Corporate Card and Official Vehicle Rules"

In Endorsement Speech, Emphasizes "Honesty, Integrity, and Diligence"
"Kim Is Not Just Close to Ordinary People, He Is an Ordinary Person Himself"

On May 24, Seol Nanyoung, spouse of People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo, stated, "Candidate Kim is not only honest and upright, but he is also someone who is even afraid of money," adding, "He strictly adhered to regulations regarding the use of corporate credit cards and official vehicles." Her remarks appeared to be aimed at Kim Hye-kyung, spouse of Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung, regarding the allegations of misusing corporate credit cards.

During a campaign endorsement speech broadcast on SBS that afternoon, Seol said, "My husband Kim Moonsoo, with whom I have lived for 45 years, is an honest and diligent person," and praised him by saying, "Contrary to his public image, he is humorous, warm, and down-to-earth with his family and those around him."

Seol further emphasized, "Candidate Kim is not just someone who is close to ordinary people?he is an ordinary person himself," and added, "Even after serving three terms as a National Assembly member, two terms as Gyeonggi Province governor, and as a minister, our household circumstances have not changed at all."

She continued, "Even when he suffered losses or faced criticism, he always walked the path of integrity. He has never once resorted to tricks or strayed from the right path," highlighting Kim's consistency.

She also shared an anecdote about Kim's time as Gyeonggi Province governor, when he promoted the 'Infinite Care for Crisis Families' program. She recalled, "During his tenure as governor, he learned about a family of three who, due to poverty, were driven to desperate thoughts. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government provided them with a street vendor truck as a means of livelihood. On the day the truck was delivered, Candidate Kim and the family hugged each other and wept profusely."

Seol also mentioned Kim's connection with Hansen's disease patients. She said, "He established a Korean language learning center for Hansen's disease patients who could not attend school," and revealed that those who learned Korean wrote to Kim, saying, 'Since First Lady Yuk Young-soo, no one has treated us with such warmth.'

Seol appealed for support for Kim, saying, "The Republic of Korea is now in a crisis of utmost urgency. It is time to choose someone who looks only to the people, not to parties or personal interests."
