Four Weekly Flights... Anticipated Expansion of Exchanges with Uzbekistan
K-pop Group "Blackswan" Boards First Flight
On May 23, T'way Air announced the launch of a new route between Incheon and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
This route will operate four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). Flights will depart from Incheon International Airport at 6:30 PM (local time) and arrive at Tashkent International Airport at 10:00 PM. The return flight will depart from Tashkent at 11:40 PM and arrive in Incheon at 9:50 AM the following day. The flight time is approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes.
The first flight on this day will carry members and staff participating in the K-pop girl group 'Blackswan' concert, which will be held at Humo Arena in Tashkent on May 25. They are scheduled to support promotional activities at the local concert venue in Tashkent.
T'way Air began opening air routes to Central Asia in 2020 by operating charter flights to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). In June 2023, the airline launched regular flights on the Incheon-Bishkek route. To date, T'way Air has transported approximately 40,000 passengers and 178 tons of cargo, contributing to improved travel convenience for local Korean residents and foreign passengers. The airline expects that the new Tashkent route will also help promote cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries.
Tashkent offers the opportunity to experience the long history and traditions of the Central Asian Silk Road. Recognized as one of the safest cities in Central Asia, Tashkent allows visa-free stays of up to 30 days and provides access to modern infrastructure such as the subway and large shopping malls.
A T'way Air representative stated, "We expect that the launch of the Tashkent route will not only expand exchanges between Korea and Central Asia but also enhance convenience for travelers," adding, "We will continue to do our best to improve customer convenience with safety as our top priority."
