Naver Chairman Lee Haejin is expected to visit Taiwan and meet with Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia. This marks the beginning of his active public engagements since returning as chairman of the board.

According to local sources on May 22, Chairman Lee, accompanied by Naver CEO Choi Sooyoun, visited Taiwan, where Computex 2025, Asia's largest information technology (IT) exhibition, is being held.

Although Chairman Lee will not attend the Computex event itself, he is reportedly scheduled to hold a separate meeting with CEO Jensen Huang, who is staying in Taiwan for the exhibition.

Chairman Lee, who has long spearheaded Naver's major overseas business strategies, was re-elected as chairman of the board at the shareholders' meeting in March, returning to a prominent management role. When asked at the time about the possibility of collaborating with big tech companies, he responded, "If there is an opportunity to collaborate, we should do so," and added, "We are pursuing various cooperation models with Nvidia and others."

Chairman Lee's actions are seen as a response to the critical sense of crisis that Naver's future could be at stake if it falls behind in the global artificial intelligence (AI) competition. This is his first public overseas engagement since returning to the board.

Meanwhile, Chairman Lee previously visited Nvidia's U.S. headquarters in June last year, during his tenure as Global Investment Officer (GIO), to meet with Jensen Huang and discuss issues related to Sovereign AI.
