Jeonju City to Hold Free Percussion Concert "Da(Ta) Talk" on May 29

Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province will hold a free percussion concert titled "Da(Ta) Talk" with the Percussion Performance Group Akwi at 7:30 p.m. on May 29 at the Deokjin Arts Center to celebrate "Culture Day."

According to the city on May 22, this performance is a dynamic and exciting percussion show that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. True to its title, "Da(Ta) Talk," the concert centers on the theme "Percussion Speaks," and features creative stages filled with excitement and sensitivity, highlighting the diverse charms of percussion music.


The Percussion Performance Group Akwi, which is in charge of this concert, is an arts organization that has presented creative performances based on traditional percussion, appealing to various generations. The group has consistently delivered innovative and original stages that transcend the boundaries between tradition and modernity, as well as East and West.


The program for the evening will feature a total of five performances: "Hey," a creative street parade reinterpreting traditional pungmul gilnori; "Hero," a media percussion piece combining video and music; "Gutta," a nanta performance that communicates with the audience through rhythm games; "Bucket," a rhythmic percussion performance using everyday objects; and "Hwirak," a fusion percussion piece that adds excitement and energy to traditional rhythms.


No Eunyoung, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism at Jeonju City, stated, "We hope this concert will resonate with citizens' emotions and provide a vibrant cultural experience that enlivens daily life through the dynamic art of percussion. We will continue to present cultural performances that offer moments of relaxation and inspiration."
