High-Performance Drones Deployed
Monitoring and Crackdown on Violations
Ulsan Ulju County will conduct special crackdowns and inspections until June 13 to eradicate illegal activities within development restriction zones.
On May 22, Ulju County announced that it will strengthen on-site crackdowns on violations such as unauthorized construction, illegal land modification, and illegal installation of stored materials. The county also stated that it plans to focus inspections on major violation sites where administrative orders have already been issued.
To compensate for the large area (151 km²) and limited accessibility in some outlying regions, high-performance drones will be deployed on-site to enable efficient enforcement through aerial surveillance systems. If violations are confirmed, immediate restoration orders will be issued. In cases of non-compliance, Ulju County warned that strong measures will follow, including the imposition of compulsory fines and criminal charges.
In addition to crackdowns, Ulju County will strengthen constant monitoring systems focused on patrol and prevention, aiming to block illegal activities in advance.
An official from Ulju County stated, "Development restriction zones are designated to prevent haphazard urban development and protect the natural environment, so we will continue to manage them in line with these purposes." The official added, "We will make every effort to improve public awareness and conduct rigorous crackdowns to ensure that illegal activities no longer occur."
