The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will begin producing educational materials for the "Gyeonggi Online School."
The Gyeonggi Online School is an online-based learning platform where teachers create educational materials themselves and share them with students. It will provide a variety of self-directed learning resources that reflect students' needs.
On May 21, the Office of Education announced that, together with educational research associations, it will produce 100 learning materials across 10 topics, including public art, K-pop dance, app-based music performance, musicals, economic education, second foreign languages, and webtoons.
In particular, the Office of Education will pursue various methods to secure a wide range of online educational materials, such as hosting contests, collaborating with teacher creators, and utilizing specialized companies for production.
During the pilot operation of the Gyeonggi Online School in June, when students request specific learning content, the Office plans to provide customized materials through educational research associations, a support group of teacher creators, and a pool of instructors.
An official from the Office of Education stated, "By operating the 'Gyeonggi Online School,' we will expand learning opportunities, and by having teachers, who are educational experts, directly create high-quality educational materials that reflect student demand, we will strengthen support for individualized learning."
