On May 20, the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam Provincial Parties of the Democratic Party of Korea held a "Yeonghonam Unity Joint Rally" at Hwagae Market, a symbolic venue for East-West harmony. At the event, they expressed a strong commitment to "ending the politics of division and hatred and ushering in an era of national unity."

Held under the slogan "We Are One, The Real Republic of Korea," the rally was attended by approximately 500 people, including key figures from the campaign committees of both provincial parties, core party members, and local residents.

From the Jeonnam Provincial Party, the participants included Chief Campaign Director Joo Cheolhyeon, National Assembly members Kwon Hyangyeop, Kim Moonsu, and Jo Gyeweon, as well as Kim Taegyun, Chair of the Jeonnam Provincial Council and Chief Campaign Director. From the Gyeongnam Provincial Party, participants included Song Soonho, Chair of the Gyeongnam Provincial Party and Chief Campaign Director, National Assembly members Min Hongcheol and Lee Eonju, former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyungsoo, and former National Assembly member Kim Dookwan, all serving as Chief Campaign Directors.

Hwagae Market became a symbol of Yeonghonam unity after Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung held a meeting with young people there on May 15.

Through this rally, the Democratic Party presented a vision for a unified future in which Yeongnam and Honam join hands and move forward together, overcoming regional conflict and the politics of hatred.

Joo Cheolhyeon, Chief Campaign Director of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, emphasized, "Today, Hwagae Market is not just a rally venue, but the starting point of unity where the people come together, transcending division and conflict," and added, "The truly capable leader ready to build a real Republic of Korea is none other than candidate Lee Jaemyung."

Song Soonho, Chief Campaign Director of the Gyeongnam Provincial Party, stated, "This election is a judgment on rebellion and a judgment on the incompetence of the Yoon Sukyeol administration," and emphasized, "At a time when the lives of the people are collapsing under the shadow of division and rebellion, candidate Lee Jaemyung is the prepared president who can embrace everyone."

Meanwhile, in the resolution read at the event, it was declared, "Candidate Lee Jaemyung is the only leader who can end the forces of rebellion and restore democracy, and he is a candidate with the vision and ability to resolve inequality and lead fairness and growth." It also stated, "Yeongnam and Honam will unite to deliver an overwhelming victory for candidate Lee Jaemyung and will surely move toward a future of national unity and hope."
