"The keyword for the Democratic Party in this presidential election is 'listening.' We will visit the field and hear directly from people."
Kim Minseok, Standing Co-Chair of the Democratic Party’s Election Campaign Committee, made this statement at a meeting held in Bongseon-dong, Namgu, Gwangju, on May 20, 2025. The Democratic Party has set 'listening' as the direction for this campaign, expressing its intention to enter voters' daily lives and hear their voices.

On this day, the Democratic Party’s Gwangju City Chapter and the Central Election Committee conducted a 'Local Listening Project' with about ten residents of Bongseon 2-dong. The meeting took place at a cafe in Bongseon-dong, with Kim Minseok, along with lawmakers Shin Junghoon and Yang Bunan, in attendance to listen directly to the residents’ stories.
Participants shared concerns from their daily lives, such as educational disparities, housing insecurity, and gaps in care services. The lawmakers nodded and quietly took notes. During the meeting, when someone asked, "Since when did the three of you want to become members of the National Assembly?" a brief silence was followed by laughter.

The Democratic Party plans to continue communicating with voters across various parts of Gwangju, starting with this meeting.
