Kim: "Lee Jaemyung Creates a 'Bulletproof National Assembly' for His Own Protection"
Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, directly criticized Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, who wore a bulletproof vest and installed bulletproof glass at his campaign site for personal protection on the 20th, saying, "If there is a chance of being shot, I'll take it."
During his campaign at Nambu Alley Market in Hwagok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul on the 20th, Kim criticized Lee by saying, "What would happen if someone who wears a bulletproof vest and sets up bulletproof glass everywhere becomes president?"
He also targeted the proposed amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act to suspend criminal trials for a sitting president, the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Chief Justice nominee Cho Heedae, and the push for special prosecutor legislation, stating, "What would happen if someone who is creating a 'bulletproof National Assembly' just to shield himself becomes president? I don't need any of that. If there is a chance of being shot, I'll take it," he reiterated.
He further argued, "If a thief is the one holding confirmation hearings and pushing for special prosecutors against the Chief Justice, is that really democracy in South Korea?"

Regarding Lee's remark that the cost price of coffee is 120 won, Kim said, "Why would he say the cost price of coffee is 120 won just to frustrate people?" He added, "If merchants make excessive profits, would people still buy from them? The job of market merchants is to sell good products at low prices to citizens through fair competition and by charging what they receive."
Previously, on the 16th during a campaign in Gunsan, Lee had mentioned, while persuading merchants to eliminate illegal business operations in valleys during his time as governor of Gyeonggi Province, "Even if you spend 50,000 won and sweat for an hour boiling chicken, you only make 30,000 won. But when you sell a cup of coffee, you can get 8,000 to 10,000 won, yet the cost price, according to my research, is 120 won."
Afterward, Kim Yongtae, a member of the emergency committee of the People Power Party, posted on Facebook, "Countless self-employed people who make a living from coffee were heartbroken by Democratic Party candidate Lee Jaemyung's comment, 'The cost price of coffee is 120 won, but it's sold at too high a price.'" In response, the Democratic Party filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, claiming that this was "the dissemination of false information with the intent to defeat candidate Lee."
Kim also criticized the move to abolish the crime of spreading false information under the Public Official Election Act, saying, "If a thief were to abolish the crime of theft from the Criminal Act, South Korea would be ruined."
