On May 20, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and Walkerhill signed a business agreement at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to create a mobility-friendly hotel.

Through this agreement, the two companies will apply the demand-responsive transportation system, the Shucle platform, to enhance the convenience of visitor movement and will establish a test environment within the hotel to verify future mobility technologies.

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will customize and implement the Shucle platform for internal and external shuttle services at Walkerhill Hotel, conducting a demonstration project. This is the first time Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are demonstrating the Shucle platform for a corporate client.

Walkerhill Hotel is described as an optimal testbed for verifying various future mobility technologies, with a site area of approximately 480,000 square meters and more than two million annual visitors as a multi-cultural complex. Accordingly, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will set up environments within the hotel to verify new technologies such as autonomous driving and micro-mobility, and will work to build a mobility ecosystem.

In addition, both companies plan to promote specialized projects to improve mobility for local residents and provide convenient transportation for those with limited mobility, based on the data and technologies collected through the Shucle platform.

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia previously presented on mobility innovation at the city and national level at 'Pleos 25' held in March. Starting with this agreement, Walkerhill Hotel also plans to participate in a consortium aimed at solving social issues through the creation of smart cities.

Sooyoung Kim, Executive Director of the Mobility Business Division at Hyundai Motor Company and Kia, stated, "It is significant that Hyundai Motor Company and Kia's solutions, which were previously applied to public transportation, have now expanded into the private sector," adding, "We will take the lead in solving social problems based on technology by creating a mobility ecosystem that encompasses the public sector, private companies, and academia."
