Pukyong National University to Hold Historical Records Collection Contest
Ahead of Next Year's 80th Anniversary and 30th Anniversary of Merger
Student ID cards, school uniforms, badges?universities are gathering all their 'history' together.
Pukyong National University announced on May 20 that it will hold a contest to collect historical materials from the university, ahead of its 80th anniversary next year and the 30th anniversary of its merger.
The Pukyong National University Archives will host a record collection contest under the theme "Gathering Memories to Fill History" until October 31.
Pukyong National University was established in 1996 through the merger of Busan National University of Technology, founded in 1924, and Busan National University of Fisheries, founded in 1941. The university marks its foundation year as 1946, immediately after Korea’s liberation.
The contest is open to a wide range of records, including materials related to the university’s establishment and merger, class materials, student ID cards, transcripts, graduation albums, photos and items from campus events, badges and uniforms bearing school symbols, club newsletters, and more.
Anyone can participate, including students, alumni, current and former faculty and staff, as well as members of the public who possess relevant records.
Pukyong National University will award a certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate worth 500,000 won to one grand prize winner, and certificates of appreciation and gift certificates worth 300,000 won each to two excellence award winners. All participants will receive a commemorative gift.
The submitted materials will be compiled into a database and used for special exhibitions during the university’s anniversary week next year. Records can be submitted in person or by mail to Room 503 of the Pukyong National University Main Administration Building.
