On May 20, Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung announced five major pledges for Seocheon County in South Chungcheong Province, aiming to transform the region into a "marine bio city" and an "eco-tourism city."

On May 20, the Democratic Party's Seocheon Election Liaison Office held a policy announcement event at its campaign office, presenting a development strategy for Seocheon County centered on Lee Jaemyung's pledges to secure regional growth engines and improve transportation welfare.

The policy announcement event was attended by Shin Hyunseong, Boryeong Seocheon Regional Chairman and Standing Chairman of the South Chungcheong Election Committee for Seocheon, as well as Co-Chairs Jeon Ikhyeon and Yoo Seungkwang.

Lee Jaemyung's five major pledges for Seocheon County are: ▲ Establishment of the Janghang Industrial Complex Smart Marine Bio Valley ▲ National support for Janghang Brownfield ▲ Promotion of seawater circulation at the Geumgang Estuary Bank ▲ Expansion of water supply facilities for seaweed processing ▲ Early completion of the double-track electrification of the Janghang Line.

Lee Jaemyung stated that he would promote the creation of a "Smart Marine Bio Valley," a hub for the marine bio industry, by linking the Janghang National Ecological Industrial Complex, the National Institute of Ecology, and the National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea. He also announced plans to support the establishment of a "National Marine Bio Industry Promotion Institute" to this end.

Shin Hyunseong, Standing Chairman of the Election Committee, said, "This presidential election is a turning point for restoring democracy in Korea and achieving balanced regional development," adding, "Candidate Lee Jaemyung has meticulously prepared detailed pledges tailored to local conditions in order to realize a nation of balanced development."
