The Hongju Millennium Culture Experience Center in Hongseong County, South Chungcheong Province, announced that it will host a special Dano Festival program on May 31 under the theme "Meeting Hongju at the Threshold of Summer!" to celebrate Dano.

On this day, participants will have the opportunity to experience Dano customs through activities such as making Surichwi-tteok (mugwort rice cakes) and fruit punch, creating shampoo bars using Changpo (sweet flag), and decorating Dano fans with calligraphy.

Applications for the program will be accepted for three days, from May 21 to May 23.

Participation in the experience is free of charge, but participants are responsible for the cost of materials required for the program.

Kim Taegi, head of the Culture and Tourism Division of the county, stated, "This program is designed to reinterpret the traditions of Dano in a modern way, so that participants can engage with tradition in a more familiar manner. I hope it will be an opportunity for participants to reflect once again on the meaning of Dano and to gain insight into the wisdom of our ancestors in coping with the hot summer."
