Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced tailored development pledges for the Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin regions in South Jeolla Province, demonstrating a strong commitment to regional development.


These pledges were designed to reflect the specific circumstances and needs of each region, and are significant in that they are practical promises intended to enable the regions to chart their own futures.


Looking at the main pledges for each area: for Goheung County, the pledges include the construction of the Gwangju-Goheung Expressway, the construction of a space railway, the creation of a convergence cluster for the space launch vehicle industry, fostering a hub for the future flight vehicle industry, supporting energy self-sufficiency for the Green Hydrogen-based Smart Farm Innovation Valley, and the establishment of a Dadohae Forest Healing Center.


For Boseong County, the pledges include the early opening of high-speed railways on the Gyeongjeon Line and Namhae Line, improvement of the access road from National Route 18 to Boseong-eup, improvement of the access road to Beolgyo National Route 2, improvement of regulatory matters for the Yeongsangang and Seomjingang river basin resident support projects, and route changes for National Route 77.


For Jangheung County, the pledges include the construction of a Nobel Literature Hall, support for specialized development as a Korea Culture and Tourism Travel Special Zone, four-lane expansion of National Route 23 from Sinri in Daedeok-eup to Sunji in Jangheung-eup, four-lane expansion of National Route 18 from Gisan to Sachon in Anyang-myeon, and expansion of agricultural and living infrastructure facilities.


For Gangjin County, the pledges include the construction of the second National Dasan Integrity Training Institute, support for the designation of Gangjin Bay Ecological Park as a National Garden, hosting the Jeonnam World Ceramics Expo, four-lane expansion of National Route 23 and Local Route 55, and expansion of the Gangjin childcare allowance as a national policy.


Representative Moon Geum Ju stated, "Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin are like jewels of balanced development in Korea, connecting the southern coast and the inland," and added, "I will bring hope to your lives as you continue to protect your region without giving up, even in the face of the crisis of regional extinction."


Representative Moon continued, "These tailored pledges are promises made together with the residents who know the region best," and appealed, "Please give overwhelming support to candidate Lee Jae Myung so that we can bring about change in Korea."
