On May 20, Yeongju City held a donation ceremony at City Hall to deliver educational equipment to 10 local child care centers and the Youth Training Center (Youth After-School Academy).

About 10 people attended the event, including Lee Soonbok, President of the Yeongju Child Care Center Association, Geum Jaemin, Team Leader of the Youth Training Center, and Acting Mayor Lee Jaehun of Yeongju City.

This support for educational equipment was made possible through a total donation of 27,360,000 won to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Community Chest of Korea, raised by the "2024 Gyeongsangbuk-do Low-Income Birthrate Overcoming Fundraising Campaign." Major donors included Choi Yooni, CEO of J-Tech Water (10,000,000 won), Park Namseo, former Mayor of Yeongju (5,000,000 won), the Yeongju Saemaeul Association (5,000,000 won), and the Yeongju Social Welfare Administration Research Association (3,000,000 won), further contributing to the warmth of the local community.

The items provided were tailored to the educational needs of each institution. Local child care centers received computers, tablet PCs, TVs, and ukuleles, while the Youth Training Center was supplied with musical equipment such as electronic pianos, electronic drums, and guitars. This support is expected to enhance children's and adolescents' self-directed learning abilities, emotional stability, and creativity.

President Lee Soonbok said, "This support for educational equipment will provide practical help for children's learning and emotional development," and added, "We will continue to work harder for child care in the future." Team Leader Geum Jaemin expressed his anticipation, saying, "I expect that children will be able to fully express their dreams and talents through musical instruments."

Acting Mayor Lee Jaehun emphasized, "The warm support of the local community is empowering the future of our children," and stated, "We will take the lead in spreading a culture of sharing to overcome the low birthrate crisis and improve welfare."
