Siheung City to Host 'World Citizens Day Festival' at Migwan Square in Jeongwang-dong on the 25th

World Costume Parade and Performances to Be Held
Experience Booths for Food and Culture from Around the World Also Available

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will host the '2025 World Citizens Day Festival' at Migwan Square in Jeongwang-dong on May 25.

This festival is held to commemorate the designation of May 20 as 'World Citizens Day' every year since 2007, with the aim of creating a multicultural society where people from various ethnicities and cultures understand and coexist with one another.

This year's 'World Citizens Day Festival' will feature a commemorative ceremony and awards ceremony, along with programs that allow participants to experience the cultures and traditions of various countries.

The event will begin with the 'World Costume Parade', which will include residents from more than 10 countries such as Korea, China, Vietnam, Nepal, and Cambodia. There will also be traditional performances from around the world, a Sambarakcha performance by the Siheung City Traditional Arts Troupe, a Taekwondo demonstration by the Siheung City Taekwondo Demonstration Team, and a K-pop dance performance.

There will also be booths where visitors can experience the food and culture of different countries. In addition, information for both local and foreign residents will be provided, including medical support, firefighter and police officer experience programs, health and safety promotion, job opportunities, and admissions and career counseling.

Park Yongju, head of the Siheung City Foreign Residents Division, said, "This festival will provide an opportunity for both local and foreign residents to understand and respect each other's cultures," adding, "We hope that many citizens will participate, enjoy the event together, and create lasting memories."
