Applications Accepted at Eup, Myeon, and Dong Offices Until July 31
Jeollanam-do announced on May 20 that it will accept applications for the '2025 Disadvantaged Area Direct Payment' and 'Small-Scale Fishing Household Direct Payment' programs for three months, until July 31.
The Disadvantaged Area Direct Payment program has been providing annual support of 800,000 won since 2014 to fishing households in island regions with low fishing productivity or poor living conditions, aiming to supplement income and foster vibrant fishing communities.
Eligible applicants are fishing households registered as fishing management entities, with annual seafood sales of at least 1.2 million won or who have engaged in fishing for at least 60 days in a year, and who reside in island regions designated as disadvantaged areas.
Eligibility also includes individuals registered as fishing management entities, fishers operating vessels under 5 tons or reported fishers, aquaculture operators with annual seafood sales of less than 100 million won, and those who have continuously engaged in fishing for at least three years prior to the application year. However, applicants will be excluded if their non-fishing income exceeds 20 million won, or if any household member's non-fishing income exceeds 45 million won.
Applications for the Disadvantaged Area and Small-Scale Fishing Household Direct Payment programs can be submitted in person at the local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Centers. Further details are available on city and county websites.
