Minho Choi, Mayor of Sejong, and Chaesung Lim, Chairman of the Sejong City Council, have pledged to continue their joint efforts and cooperation to complete the administrative capital Sejong.

On the 19th, Mayor Choi met with Chairman Lim in the mayor's office to exchange views on measures to complete the administrative capital Sejong and related issues.

This meeting was arranged ahead of the 98th regular session of the Sejong City Council, which will begin on May 20, so that Mayor Choi and Chairman Lim could reaffirm their positions and strengthen their commitment to completing the administrative capital.

Mayor Choi expressed his regret at not being able to attend the joint policy seminar on the completion of the administrative capital Sejong presidential pledge, which was organized by the Sejong Love Citizens' Coalition on May 13. He called for united efforts to achieve the completion of the administrative capital.

At the meeting, Mayor Choi said, "Although I regret not being able to attend the recent seminar, there will be even more tasks that the city and the council must tackle together going forward. Let us move beyond party conflicts and unproductive debates, and work together in cooperation to achieve the completion of the administrative capital."

Chairman Lim stated, "I am disappointed that I could not attend the seminar due to scheduling conflicts. The completion of the administrative capital Sejong is the dream not only of 400,000 Sejong citizens but also of everyone who hopes for balanced national development. Therefore, we must strongly recommend concrete implementation to the new government and urge the fulfillment of its pledges."

Mayor Choi and Chairman Lim also pledged to proceed with a confirmation hearing for the candidate for president of the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute.

Mayor Choi said, "We will ensure proper treatment so that we can appoint an excellent person as president of the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute. Let us discuss the format and procedures of the confirmation hearing in detail at a later time."
