Chungnam Governor Kim Taeheum, who has begun reviewing major pending issues in the province, mentioned his remaining one-year term and called for all administrative capacities to be focused on achieving a "time of completion."
On the 19th, Governor Kim reviewed 43 major pending issues across seven sectors at the provincial government’s main conference room, with about 30 participants including the administrative and political vice governors, and heads of departments and offices.
Governor Kim emphasized, "This is an important occasion to review initiatives that will shape not only the future of Chungnam but also the next 50 and 100 years of Korea," and added, "Projects such as the creation of Bay Valley, the development of future growth engines, the relocation of public institutions, and the advancement of smart agriculture and livestock industries are critical projects that will determine the nation’s future growth drivers."
He continued, "Expanding the SOC (social overhead capital) infrastructure is extremely important for balanced regional development." He further stated, "Since this year is when national plans for roads and railways will be announced, we will ensure that projects such as the Chungcheong Inland Railway and the Boryeong-Daejeon Expressway are included in these national plans."
Governor Kim asked, "Directors and heads of departments should have a sense of mission as the main drivers of future development, and concentrate all administrative capacities to ensure that the seeds sown so far will fully blossom and bear fruit." He also urged, "During the presidential election period, all public officials should focus on their assigned duties without hesitation or distraction."
Meanwhile, Chungnam Province received the highest rating for the third consecutive year for the implementation of its eighth popularly elected administration’s pledges. In the sectoral evaluation, the province received an SA grade in achieving its 2024 goals.
