The golf course was built at a total cost of 535 million won, with 120 million won from the provincial government and 415 million won from the city budget. It covers an area of 4,290 square meters. The facility features a nine-hole natural grass course, as well as amenities such as restrooms and management facilities. The city explained that the course is designed with a total length of 374 meters and a par of 33, and that each hole offers varying levels of difficulty and distance.
The city added that in order to block noise from the nearby elevated expressway, soundproofing trees have been planted, and additional trees have been planted around the fence to help the course blend into the surrounding landscape.
To meet growing demand, the city is also planning to construct another park golf course under the Siheung Bridge. Basic and detailed design work is currently underway, with completion targeted for October.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, said, "I hope this will allow citizens to enjoy a healthy leisure life and serve as a place for communication and harmony between generations," adding, "We will continue to expand sports facilities for everyday use so that everyone can enjoy sports close to home."
