The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is launching an initiative to cultivate experts with professionalism and practical capabilities in school establishment administration.
On May 18, the office announced that it began the "Intensive Practical Training (One-Point Academy)" on May 17, a program that focuses intensively on a single topic and aims to strengthen expertise in school establishment administration through short but rigorous training. The program will run for three weeks.
Currently, school establishment tasks involve complex procedures and require diverse collaboration, including student placement planning, coordination with urban development, responding to resident complaints, securing school sites, and handling audits. Therefore, ensuring the professionalism and capabilities of officials responsible for school establishment tasks on the ground is a key factor that directly determines the policy execution capacity of the education office.

The main training topics include: understanding student placement plans, basics of school establishment, the relationship between development projects and urban management plans; relevant laws (such as the Education Environment Act and the Special Act on School Sites) and procedures for new or expanded schools, negotiation techniques for student placement in relation to development projects; case studies of audit responses, preparation of student placement review documents, analysis of student occurrence rate calculation methods, and sharing of current issues.
Through this program, the office plans to systematically provide field-oriented practical competencies to officials, including understanding of school establishment laws, explanation of procedures, preparation of practical documents, and analysis of audit cases.
So Byungyeop, Director of Administrative Competency at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "School establishment administration determines the future of the public, and the capabilities of practitioners directly determine the success or failure of education policy." He added, "We will continue to strengthen the training of experts and the establishment of practical networks through ongoing 'Intensive Practical Training (One-Point Academy)' programs in the future."
