Governor Kim Youngrok: "Doing Our Best to Overcome Regional Extinction Crisis and Promote Development" Kim Youngrok Jeonnam Governor

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, attended the 13th Friendship Sports Festival hosted by the Gwangju-Jeonnam Elders Association at the Hampyeong Culture and Sports Center on May 17. He pledged to do his utmost to overcome the crisis of regional extinction and to promote regional development.


The opening ceremony of the Friendship Sports Festival was attended by Governor Kim and approximately 300 members of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Elders Association. The event proceeded in the following order: an opening worship service, congratulatory speeches from distinguished guests, and competitions by sport. The ceremony lasted about one hour, beginning with an opening declaration by Association President Kim Byungsik and concluding with congratulatory remarks from the attending guests.


In his congratulatory speech, Governor Kim encouraged the members of the Elders Association for their dedication to ensuring the healthy operation of local churches through sincere faith activities. He also expressed his gratitude for the role of Christianity, especially for providing aid during the Jeju Air disaster earlier this year through relief activities and other support efforts.
