Democratic Party Criticizes Yoon Seokyeol's Departure from People Power Party
Calls It a "Scripted Fraud" and Labels Kim Moonsoo as the "Far-Right Insurrection Candidate"

On May 17, the Democratic Party of Korea criticized former President Yoon Seokyeol's voluntary departure from the People Power Party, stating, "Today's withdrawal is proof that Yoon Seokyeol, the leader of the insurrection, candidate Kim Moonsoo, and the People Power Party are all one and share a common fate."

Hwang Jeonga, spokesperson for the Democratic Party's Central Election Committee, said during a briefing at the party's headquarters that morning, "This is the moment when the genre of the People Power Party's insurrection-worshipping fake withdrawal show shifts from a farce to a fraud," making the above remarks.

Spokesperson Hwang criticized, "It is a scripted fraud against the public designed to create an alibi that the insurrection leader and the far-right insurrection candidate have parted ways," and added, "There are no citizens who will be deceived by this fake withdrawal show, which is nothing more than a cover-up."

She went on to say, "Yoon Seokyeol's statement upon leaving the party is also filled not with reflection or apology, but with delusion and self-absorption," and directly pointed out, "Above all, by appealing for support for candidate Kim Moonsoo, he has certified himself as the far-right insurrection candidate he is backing."

She further stated, "Kim Moonsoo, now the 'Yoon Seokyeol-certified candidate,' can no longer escape the label of 'far-right insurrection candidate' no matter what he does," and added, "The People Power Party has ultimately become forever branded as a pathetic remnant of the insurrection, unable to expel even one insurrection leader by its own hand."

She concluded, "Not only did they fail to discipline or expel him, but they also staged a disorganized farce over his voluntary departure, and in the end, colluded with the insurrection leader in this fraudulent act. They are truly a degenerate group," and declared, "Now only judgment remains. For candidate Kim Moonsoo and the People Power Party, who have declared they will continue to distort the public will for ending the insurrection under Yoon Seokyeol's manipulation, the only thing left is the harsh judgment of the people."
