Democratic Party lawmaker Moon Geumju (representing Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin in South Jeolla Province) announced on the 17th that he held a series of "Listening Meetings" with organizations and residents in Jangheung and Gangjin on the 15th and 16th, during which he declared his support for candidate Lee Jaemyung and sought alternatives for regional development.
On the 16th, Moon began with meetings at a strawberry farm and Balsan Village in Gangjin-eup, then continued with sessions at the Gangjin Women's College, with residents of Byeongyeong Township, Deokcheon Village in Gundong Township, and Myungju and Sagoo Villages in Chillyang Township. During these meetings, in-depth discussions were held on key local issues and proposals for regional development. Various areas for cooperation were explored, including: ▲improving welfare for the elderly ▲expanding women's participation in society ▲strengthening agricultural competitiveness ▲revitalizing the local economy.
Prior to this, on the 15th, Moon held a series of listening meetings and support declaration events with three organizations in Jangheung County. Attendees at the listening meeting and support declaration included Moon himself, Moon Jaegwan (president of the Busan Township Senior Citizens' Association), Baek Pilju (president of the Jangheung Shiitake Mushroom Producers Association), Jeong Yeonseung (president of the Jangheung Korean Beef Association), and other related figures. The listening meetings raised issues such as: ▲expanding welfare policies for the elderly ▲strengthening government support for the development of agriculture, forestry, and livestock industries, as well as for the livelihood stability of those working in these sectors.
Moon stated, "The Democratic Party is a party that keeps its promises. I will do my utmost to ensure that the regional projects and tasks proposed during the listening meetings are realized," adding, "In this presidential election, I will devote all efforts to establishing the fourth democratic government and creating a true Republic of Korea."
