Jeonnam Province announced on the 17th that it had completed administrative measures, such as orders to relocate, for a total of 34 pieces of agricultural machinery that were found to have been abandoned without permission and could potentially damage rural landscapes or cause safety accidents, following a comprehensive survey.

This measure involved investigating agricultural machinery that had been left unattended for more than two months as of April, and issuing administrative actions to the owners, such as orders to relocate or encouraging voluntary maintenance and removal, in order to prevent safety accidents caused by abandoned agricultural machinery.

During the survey period, Jeonnam Province worked in cooperation with administrative welfare centers in cities, counties, towns, and villages to inspect rural communities, areas around agricultural machinery storage facilities, and abandoned farmhouses. As a result, a total of 34 pieces of agricultural machinery were identified as having been abandoned without permission, and administrative measures such as relocation orders were taken for these machines.

Jeonnam Province expects that these measures will contribute to improving rural life, as abandoned agricultural machinery can inconvenience residents’ movement, cause environmental pollution such as rust water or waste oil leaks, and pose safety risks to children and others.

The province also plans to continue managing abandoned agricultural machinery through regular inspections and maintenance records, as an increase in such cases could lead to illegal waste disposal issues.

Yoo Deokgyu, Director of the Food and Horticulture Division of Jeonnam Province, stated, "This comprehensive survey is not just about environmental maintenance, but a preventive measure to protect safety and public order in rural areas," adding, "We will continue to work with cities and counties to regularly inspect and guide the management of abandoned agricultural machinery."
