Adidas Notifies Members via Email
"Financial Information Not Included"
Following the luxury brand Dior, the sportswear brand Adidas has also experienced a customer data breach due to hacking.
On May 16, Adidas informed its members via email, stating, "We recently became aware that some customer-related data was leaked to a third party," and explained, "The affected personal data pertains to customers who made inquiries through the Adidas customer center in 2024 or earlier."
The company added, "The leaked information may include names, email addresses, phone numbers, and dates of birth," but clarified, "Financial information such as passwords and payment-related data was not included."
However, Adidas did not disclose the exact timing of the breach. The company stated, "We have immediately begun a comprehensive investigation in cooperation with information security specialists and have reported the matter to the relevant authorities," adding, "We are making every effort to protect and secure consumer information and have implemented additional security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future."
Previously, Dior also experienced a customer data breach due to hacking on January 26. On May 13, Dior notified its customers that it had discovered the hacking incident on May 7.
