Changwon Coast Guard Awards Certificate of Appreciation to Lim Daewon, Deputy Manager at Marine Leisure Sports Center
Lim Daewon, deputy manager at Changwon Facilities Corporation in Gyeongnam and currently working at the Jinhae Marine Leisure Sports Center, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Changwon Coast Guard for his swift action in saving a life at sea.
On May 7, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Lim received a report that a woman in her 50s was drifting in the water after falling in near the Sojukdo Park promenade, close to the Jinhae Marine Leisure Sports Center.
After reporting the incident to the police and 119, Lim quickly boarded a rescue boat from the Marine Leisure Sports Center, rushed to the scene, rescued the drowning woman, and handed her over to the 119 emergency responders.
The rescued woman suffered bruises and symptoms of hypothermia, but her life was not in danger. She reportedly received emergency treatment at the hospital and was able to return home.
Lim Daewon, who is in charge of marine program instruction at the Jinhae Marine Leisure Sports Center, stated, "I am relieved that I was able to save the drowning person in such a life-or-death emergency. I will continue to do my best to ensure the safety of customers and citizens in my work."
