Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted the “Senior Center Happiness Teacher Support Program” on May 14 at the Namyang-ri and Namyang 1-ri senior centers.

This program featured two happiness teachers and invited outside instructors, and was organized in two sessions: the first session focused on silver gymnastics, and the second session involved making hamburgers.
The elderly participants in the program shared their impressions, saying, “We had such an enjoyable time exercising together and making hamburgers while chatting that the time passed by without us even noticing.”
County Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, “We will strive to ensure that the Senior Center Happiness Teacher Support Program becomes a representative senior welfare initiative in Ulleung County, so that our elderly residents can regain their health and smiles.”
The “Ulleung County Senior Center Happiness Teacher Support Program” is a flagship senior welfare system in Ulleung County, entrusted to the Ulleung County branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association. It encompasses senior center management, program operation, human rights and abuse prevention, and care for elderly neighbors who may be isolated.
