Yeongam County Continues Hometown Love Donations with Navy 3rd Fleet Personnel

Cumulative Donations Surpass 300 Million Won This Year

Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Woo Seunghee) promoted the hometown love donation program at the Republic of Korea Navy 3rd Fleet Command on May 13 and 14, raising 10 million won in donations from 100 participants, including naval personnel and civilian employees.

According to the county on May 16, the county's efforts to visit military workplaces and raise awareness of the program were met with a positive response from naval personnel, resulting in significant participation in the donation campaign.

In particular, this year the county visited more than 40 organizations and companies both within and outside the local community to promote the hometown love donation program. The county explained the purpose of the program, appealed for local development and the establishment of a sustainable donation culture, and received positive responses from each organization and company.

As a result of these efforts, including the fundraising on this occasion, Yeongam County has increased its cumulative hometown love donations to 300 million won. Considering that the county surpassed the 300 million won mark in early September last year, it appears that Yeongam County's outreach promotion is proving effective.

Lee Youngjoo, Director of the Public Relations Strategy Office, said, "We will continue to promote the program in a way that is tailored to various workplaces and office workers so that more people can benefit from it," and added, "We will also thoroughly prepare and implement fund projects that enhance donor satisfaction."
