On May 15, Shiftee, an integrated workforce management solution provider, analyzed this year's commuting and working hours of office workers based on its own data from last year. The analysis found that the average arrival time at work was 8:44 a.m., which is 6 minutes earlier than the previous year, and the average departure time was 6:19 p.m., which is 2 minutes earlier than the previous year. Compared to 2021, the arrival time at work is now 17 minutes earlier, and the departure time is 10 minutes earlier.

The average working time, including break time, was 9 hours and 51 minutes, which is an increase of 3 minutes compared to the previous year. Compared to 9 hours and 45 minutes in 2021, this is an increase of 6 minutes. This is analyzed to be due to the average arrival time at work becoming significantly earlier than the average departure time.

Office workers were found to arrive at work at 8:44 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This shows a tendency to arrive at work at a consistent time regardless of the day of the week. In contrast, the latest departure time was on Monday at 6:22 p.m., while the earliest departure time was on Friday at 6:10 p.m.

Construction also had the longest average working hours, including break time, at 10 hours and 28 minutes.

The industries with the earliest departure times were real estate, business facility management, business support, and rental services. The average departure times for these industries were 5:55 p.m., 5:44 p.m., and 5:53 p.m., respectively.

The industry with the shortest average working hours was business facility management, business support, and rental services, at 9 hours and 22 minutes. This was followed by sports and leisure services at 9 hours and 24 minutes, and health and social welfare services at 9 hours and 32 minutes.

Shin Seungwon, CEO of Shiftee, stated, "Attendance management is not only the basic data for calculating salaries, various allowances, and annual leave, but also an important factor in improving the working environment and enhancing productivity within companies. For this, it is necessary for both labor and management to accurately record and manage commuting times based on a trustworthy management system and data."
