Hyundai AutoEver Holds 'Barrier-free App Development' Contest

Applications Accepted Until the 21st of This Month

Hyundai AutoEver and the Green Light Corporation announced on the 16th that they are recruiting participants for the 'Barrier-free App Development Contest'.

Through the Barrier-free App Development Contest, Hyundai AutoEver is seeking ideas from university and graduate students to enhance mobility and daily convenience for socially vulnerable groups. Applications will be accepted until the 21st of this month. Hyundai AutoEver and Green Light have been holding this contest for nine consecutive years.

After a thorough review, Hyundai AutoEver and Green Light will support the development of apps from eight teams that present creative ideas. The detailed support includes: ▲ a 5 million won grant for app development, ▲ online education vouchers related to app development, ▲ a two-day, one-night training camp, and ▲ expert mentoring. In addition, teams that develop outstanding apps will be awarded the Minister of Science and ICT Award, the Hyundai AutoEver CEO Award, and a prize of 10 million won.

Over the past eight years, Hyundai AutoEver and Green Light have supported the development of 66 apps for socially vulnerable groups through the contest. Apps that have been developed include one that assists visually impaired individuals in using crosswalks, and another that provides information on whether restaurants are equipped with wheelchair ramps and restrooms for people with disabilities.
