Dobong-gu Holds Integrity Pledge and Resolution Ceremony
Over 260 Team Leaders and Above Attend
Integrity Training Follows the Resolution Ceremony
Dobong-gu in Seoul (headed by Mayor Oh Eon-seok) held a "Pledge and Resolution Ceremony for Integrity Practice" at the Seoninbong Hall of Dobong-gu Office on May 13.
On this day, approximately 260 employees at the team leader level (Grade 6) or higher, including Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok, signed the pledge for integrity practice and committed to taking the lead in fostering a culture of integrity in public service.
The pledge included the following core values for public officials: compliance with laws and principles and realization of an upright public sector; prioritizing the public interest; prohibiting the abuse of authority and corrupt acts such as the acceptance of money or entertainment; and carrying out duties fairly.
This resolution ceremony served as an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to achieving a "Growing Integrity Dobong." This year, the scope of participants was expanded compared to last year to allow more employees to take part.
After the resolution ceremony, Park Yeonjeong, an expert instructor from the Anti-Corruption Training Institute of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, delivered a lecture. In her presentation, Park provided education on anti-corruption laws and systems, including the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and proactive administration.
Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok stated, "This integrity pledge is an important starting point for building a Dobong-gu that earns the trust of its residents," adding, "We will do our utmost to support all employees so that they can practice integrity with one heart in the future."
The district is making various efforts to create an upright public sector and provide administration that is trusted by residents.
Integrity policies are being promoted based on four main strategies and 24 detailed action tasks: strengthening anti-corruption systems, focused improvement of corruption-prone areas, spreading a culture of integrity based on communication, and realizing Integrity Dobong centered on resident empathy.
Efforts to raise integrity awareness among all employees are also ongoing. Slogans such as "Let's Do It Together! Integrity Dobong!" and "Integrity Practice YES! Dobong" are included in official documents to encourage employees to practice integrity. To date, approximately 150,000 official documents have included integrity slogans.
