"Teachers Are Like Mirrors to Children"
On May 15, Lee Jeongseon, Superintendent of Education in Gwangju, sent a letter to teachers expressing his congratulations and gratitude on the occasion of the 44th Teachers' Day.
In the letter, Superintendent Lee stated, "Teachers are like mirrors for our children," and added, "Children take nourishment from the teachings and care of their teachers, putting down roots in the soil of education, and growing into talents who will lead the future of our society."
Superintendent Lee also said, "You may have shed tears at the podium where you once stood with excitement," and emphasized, "The Office of Education will pay close attention to the mental well-being of teachers who nurture children in a healthy way." He further added, "We will actively support teachers so that they can take pride in their work and fully devote themselves to educational activities."
