Hyundai Glovis Boosts Breakbulk Cargo Competitiveness... "Accelerating Non-Affiliated Growth"

Hyundai Glovis announced that it participated in Bravebulks Europe (BBE) 2025, held from May 13 to 15 (local time) at the Ahoy Convention Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where it showcased its competitiveness in the global breakbulk cargo market.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, BBE is the world's largest breakbulk cargo exhibition. This year, more than 600 global companies participated, and over 10,000 visitors attended the event. Hyundai Glovis has participated in BBE for five consecutive years.

Breakbulk cargo refers to large and heavy specialized cargo that cannot be loaded into containers, such as industrial and power generation equipment, electric vehicles, aircraft, and mining machinery. For transporting such cargo by sea, car carriers or bulk carriers, which can make more efficient use of onboard space, are suitable.

Hyundai Glovis operates both types of vessels?97 car carriers and 23 bulk carriers?providing services optimized for the loading and transportation of breakbulk cargo. In addition, based on more than 100 logistics hubs worldwide, the company delivers breakbulk cargo to its final destination by land after completing maritime transport.

At the exhibition, Hyundai Glovis leveraged these competitive advantages to expand non-affiliated sales, including acquiring new shippers and establishing partnerships with forwarders. Following BBE, the company also plans to participate in breakbulk exhibitions in North America, China, and the Middle East.

Hyundai Glovis expects non-affiliated sales to increase in line with the growth of the breakbulk market. As of the first quarter of this year, the proportion of non-affiliated business in Hyundai Glovis's car carrier (PCTC) division stands at 50%.

Hyundai Glovis plans to expand its car carrier fleet to 128 vessels by 2030. The majority of these will be ultra-large vessels capable of carrying up to 10,000 vehicles.
