Supporters holding hand mirrors have been spotted at the campaign rallies of Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate. This is reportedly a precautionary measure in response to a series of terror threats targeting Lee. The intention is to use the mirrors to reflect light and obstruct the view of potential snipers.

Recently, a number of supporters holding hand mirrors were observed at Lee's campaign events in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang (TK) region. The purpose is to reflect light with the mirrors to disrupt the aim of possible assassins who might be positioned in surrounding buildings. Numerous balloons were also seen at the rallies. It is known that campaign balloons were highly effective in preventing sniper attacks during former U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign events.

The Democratic Party announced on May 3 that they had received multiple reports of plots to attack Lee. In response, at the presidential campaign launch event held in Gwanghwamun on May 12, Lee was seen wearing a bulletproof vest under his campaign jacket.

Jin Sungjoon, head of policy for the Democratic Party's election committee, stated on CBS Radio's "Kim Hyun Jung's News Show" on May 13, "We have even received reports that a so-called 'monster sniper rifle,' with a range of up to 2 kilometers, has been smuggled in," adding, "Police are currently investigating seven cases related to terror threats."

Meanwhile, after receiving reports of an extremist group preparing a terror attack, the Democratic Party launched a terror response task force (TF) for Lee, led by Kim Minseok, co-chair of the campaign committee, on May 10. On the same day, Representative Park Sunwon appeared on Kim Eo Jun's YouTube channel and said, "The candidate has switched from a stab-proof vest to a bulletproof vest, and we have also prepared clothing that is both bulletproof and stab-proof for him."
