On-site Safety and Quality Management Inspections Scheduled for May 22-23
Gwangju's Seogu District is introducing the 'Construction Safety Coaching' program by the National Land Safety Management Institute at the Hwajeong I-Park construction site. Together with the Seogu Safety Management Advisory Group and other external experts, the district will conduct on-site, reinforced inspections focused on safety and quality management.

According to Seogu District on May 14, the 'Construction Safety Coaching' aims to reduce accidents by strengthening the capabilities of those responsible for management and supervision, thereby enhancing the implementation of safety regulations and preventing construction site accidents. The inspections will take place over two days, from May 22 to 23, and are scheduled to be conducted quarterly until the project is completed.
Seogu District plans to focus on inspecting the following: the on-site implementation of the safety management plan; the management status of on-site curing specimens (samples produced under the same conditions as the site); whether responsible engineers have approved the dismantling of formwork and shoring; and whether construction machinery such as lifts and tower cranes are operating properly and have anti-overturning measures in place. Through these efforts, the district aims to enhance site safety and establish a meticulous quality management system.
At the Hwajeong I-Park construction site, demolition work for the residential floors was completed in October last year. After conducting a detailed safety diagnosis of the remaining structures, reconstruction began in January this year and is currently about 31% complete.
Kim Ikang, head of Seogu District, stated, "We will not let our guard down until the very moment the construction is fully completed, and we will do our utmost to realize 'Seogu, the number one district for safety.'"
