Daily Life and Consumption Trends of Gyeonggi-do Residents Now Available for Free on Gyeonggi Data Dream

Data that provides a comprehensive overview of the daily lives and consumption trends of Gyeonggi-do residents has been made available to the public. As a result, this information is expected to be useful for event planners, small business owners, and prospective entrepreneurs.

On May 14, Gyeonggi-do announced that it has added two new information services utilizing telecommunications, card, and transportation data to its own public data platform, Gyeonggi Data Dream (data.gg.go.kr).

The newly released services are the Gyeonggi-do Daily Mobility Consumption Analysis Dashboard and the Gyeonggi-do Real-Time Visitor Consumption Status Map.

Gyeonggi-do analyzed and visualized telecommunications data (KT) and card data (KB Kookmin, BC, Hana, Lotte, Samsung) that it has collected.

The Daily Mobility Consumption Analysis Dashboard is a service that combines residents' movement routes with consumption data to analyze and provide daily information on floating population, population movement, and consumption characteristics by region. By using cumulative monthly data, it is possible to reliably identify areas where movement and consumption are concentrated, making it useful for event planners, small business owners, and prospective entrepreneurs for commercial district analysis or marketing strategy development.

The Real-Time Visitor Consumption Status Map visualizes, on a map, population density in major areas of Gyeonggi-do in five-minute intervals and consumption data in one-hour intervals. It allows users to check which areas currently have high population concentrations and which business sectors are seeing active consumption, making it useful for adjusting outing or movement routes, managing event crowd density, or analyzing commercial districts. However, due to data processing times, real-time population data is provided with a 15-minute delay, and consumption data is provided with a 30-minute delay.

All services are available free of charge to anyone on the Gyeonggi Data Dream public data portal. They are also provided as a responsive web service optimized for various environments, including mobile and tablet devices.

Currently, Gyeonggi-do has released monthly lifestyle pattern dashboards for January to March 2025. The analysis results for April are scheduled to be released around June.

Kim Kibyung, Director of AI at Gyeonggi-do, said, "The added value of data increases when it is used to support residents' daily lives, safety, and the local economy," and added, "We will continue to expand practical data services through Gyeonggi Data Dream and further strengthen our data preparedness for the spread of AI."
