Gyeonggi Province is recruiting members for the "Gyeonggi 100 Dads Group."
On May 13, Gyeonggi Province announced that, in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Branch of the Planned Population and Health Association, it will be accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from 100 novice fathers interested in parenting who have children aged 3 to 9 (born between 2017 and 2022) living in the province. Applications will be accepted until May 23.
After an inaugural ceremony in June, members of the Gyeonggi 100 Dads Group will participate in a variety of programs, including: online weekly missions provided by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (customized missions by age group such as play, health, education, daily life, and relationships); special lectures by experts for couples; experiential programs with their children; and family-friendly campaigns.
This year, the eligibility for the Dads Group has been expanded from fathers with children aged 3 to 7 to those with children aged 3 to 9. In addition, priority will be given to multicultural families, families with three or more children, and single-parent families.

Yoon Youngmi, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Department of Women and Family, stated, "As the importance of work-life balance increases and the low birth rate intensifies, the significance of fathers' involvement in parenting is growing day by day. Gyeonggi Province will support and encourage fathers' participation in parenting to help establish a culture of shared parenting between mothers and fathers."
Meanwhile, a satisfaction survey of last year's "Gyeonggi 100 Dads Group" participants showed a 97% satisfaction rate with the program and a 98% willingness to recommend it, indicating active participation by fathers and a shift in values regarding childbirth and parenting.
