The women's gymnastics team from the Gangnam-gu Office workplace sports club in Seoul recently achieved notable results by winning awards at the 80th National Gymnastics Championships by Category. Additionally, team member Kim Seohyun was selected as a national representative to compete at the 2025 Rhine-Ruhr Summer World University Games.
The Gangnam-gu Office women's gymnastics team participated in four events?vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise?at this year's National Championships by Category, finishing third overall among six teams in the women's general division. In the individual events, Kim Seohyun placed second in both vault and floor exercise, while Kim Minji secured second place on the balance beam.
Kim Seohyun achieved double honors by being selected as a national representative for the 32nd Rhine-Ruhr Summer World University Games, which will be held in Germany in July. She earned this spot through the national team selection trials held at Jincheon National Training Center in North Chungcheong Province on April 26 and 27.
Since its founding in 2003, the women's gymnastics team has shown steady growth. This year, newly recruited athletes have demonstrated outstanding skills from their first competitions, raising the overall performance level of the team. Under the leadership of coach Lee Yuncheol, the team consists of five athletes.
Gangnam-gu Office Chief Cho Sungmyung stated, "I hope the team will continue to raise the profile of Gangnam-gu through consistent performances without injury in the future."
