"Importance of Disaster Response for Administrative Information Systems Grows"
On May 13, the Ministry of Employment and Labor held a meeting with administrative information system operating agencies to discuss cooperation measures for disaster response systems, focusing on the "Practical Manual for Disaster Crisis Response for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Administrative Information Systems" that was prepared last month.
This meeting was held to share the disaster crisis response manual and to clarify the roles and cooperation framework between the departments in charge of the Ministry's information systems and the operating agencies. The participants reviewed the current status of each operating agency's efforts to prevent and recover from failures in Grade 1 and 2 administrative information systems, and discussed ways to strengthen implementation.
Kwon Changjun, Director General for Planning and Coordination at the Ministry, stated, "As digital-based administration expands, the importance of disaster response for administrative information systems is increasing." He added, "We will actively invest in replacing outdated equipment and duplicating devices, and will continuously assess on-site response capabilities to strengthen our crisis response capacity."
The Ministry of Employment and Labor manages 10 core Grade 1 information systems that are closely related to the public's daily lives, including Goyong24, the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total System, and the National Qualification Information System (Q-Net). Last month, the Ministry prepared a manual that stipulates the necessary measures, procedures, and crisis management systems for disaster response in its information systems, thereby unifying the crisis management framework and establishing readiness to minimize damage in actual disaster situations through cooperation with the operating agencies.
