IBK Launches ESG Precision Diagnosis System Tailored for SMEs

"Specialized in Responding to Supply Chain ESG Demands and Regulations"

On May 12, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced the launch of the 'IBK ESG Precision Diagnosis System' to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management.

The system provides 'ESG Precision Diagnosis Consulting,' which offers a detailed assessment of a company's ESG status, as well as 'Greenhouse Gas Inventory Establishment Consulting,' which measures and manages carbon emissions.

The ESG Precision Diagnosis Consulting selects customized evaluation indicators based on 25 industry sectors, reflecting ESG regulatory requirements, and conducts assessments tailored to each company's situation through on-site inspections.

It also provides guidelines to help companies respond quickly to ESG risks they face.

To enhance the reliability and completeness of the precision diagnosis consulting, IBK incorporated actual data from SMEs into the evaluation criteria. During the design of the ESG evaluation model, the bank operated an advisory panel composed of ESG experts.

The Greenhouse Gas Inventory Establishment Consulting measures and analyzes both a company's carbon emissions and those of its suppliers within the supply chain, and presents reduction targets to achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions.

IBK has secured the appropriateness and credibility of its carbon emission calculations by obtaining third-party system certification from an external accredited certification body.

Kim Intae, Deputy President of the Innovation Finance Group, said, "Our greatest distinction from other institutions is providing improvement action plans optimized for each company's management environment, based on highly reliable diagnostic evaluations," adding, "We expect to offer effective solutions to SMEs that are suppliers to large corporations and export companies, for whom supply chain response assessments are urgently needed."

The precision diagnosis system can be accessed free of charge via a dedicated website after applying at an IBK branch.
