This program, which will be held over a total of eight sessions, focuses on enhancing understanding of dementia and strengthening caregiving capabilities. The program will be offered every Wednesday until July 2.
This family class is organized into eight topics, with the goal of providing an in-depth understanding of dementia care and strengthening practical caregiving skills. The main contents include three courses under "Understanding Dementia"?understanding the early symptoms and risk factors of different types of dementia, the process of diagnosis and methods of treatment and management, and understanding the emotions of elderly dementia patients?as well as five courses under "Wisdom in Caregiving," such as overcoming negative attitudes during the care process and learning effective communication methods. The program will be systematically operated based on these topics.
In addition to the educational program, a healing program will be offered to provide emotional support to families of dementia patients and to help relieve stress that arises during the caregiving process. A self-help group for information sharing and emotional exchange among families will also be organized in the future, providing participants with multifaceted support.
A representative from the Dementia Safety Center stated, "We hope that through this Hearim family class, providing accurate knowledge about dementia and caregiving education will become a valuable opportunity for families to understand each other more deeply," and added, "We will continue our efforts to reduce the caregiving burden on guardians and to improve the quality of life for dementia patients."
This program is open to any caregiver of a patient registered at the Dementia Safety Center who has been diagnosed with dementia or mild cognitive impairment. For more details, please contact the Dementia Safety Center for friendly guidance.
