LH to Conduct Design Verification Online... Review Period Reduced by 30%

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on May 12, 2025, that it has developed an online system to enhance the efficiency of its design verification operations. This system enables the entire design verification process to be handled remotely, from distributing documents for design review, to registering and evaluating review comments, and tracking review history. Real-time collaboration between LH, design firms, and experts is also possible.

Last year, LH established the system within the Construction Technology Information System (COTIS) and conducted pilot operations for sites such as Namyangju Wangsuk A2 block. Based on this experience, LH has completed improvements to the system and decided to fully implement it for all construction types in newly launched public housing districts starting this month.

LH expects that by using this system, review processes can be handled conveniently online instead of by mail or email, reducing review periods by up to 30% compared to previous methods. This year, the combined number of LH's project approvals and construction starts is approximately 160,000 housing units. The number of design verification reviews reaches about 30,000 cases. The new system will allow for more efficient management of these tasks. Last year, LH processed about 21,000 cases across roughly 60 complexes.

Recurring design errors and other issues for improvement are expected to be managed annually as a database. Oh Juhun, Head of the Public Housing Division at LH, stated, "This new online design verification system not only enables simultaneous multi-party collaboration regardless of time and location, but also reduces the need for face-to-face meetings, helping to make the design verification process more efficient and objective."
