Woongjin Compass Partners with Japan's Nellie's to Expand Edtech Exports

Supplying 'Reading Oceans Plus' to Japan
"Aiming to Lead the English Education Ecosystem in Japan"

Woongjin Compass, a global company specializing in English education, announced on May 12 that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nellie's, a Japanese English content company.


Through this agreement, Woongjin Compass will supply its AI-based digital English library service, 'Reading Oceans Plus', to the Japanese market. Additionally, the company plans to promote its content and conduct joint marketing activities by leveraging Nellie's network.

Nellie's, an affiliate of the English education company Shane Corporation, is a specialized company that imports and distributes English education materials in Japan, operating a distribution network for academies, schools, and bookstores. The company regularly holds seminars and teaching method workshops for English teachers, and has recently shown interest in introducing overseas edtech products.


Seojong Yoon, CEO of Woongjin Compass, stated, "Although the demand for English education in the Japanese market is high, the diversity of content and the maturity of technology-based services are still in the early stages. With this partnership as a starting point, Woongjin Compass aims to establish itself as a leading partner in the Japanese English education ecosystem."
