Designed from the Ingredient Stage for Zero Sugar
Using Whole Grains, Stevia, and Allulose
Nongshim Kellogg announced on May 12, 2025, that it has launched a new zero-sugar cereal product, "Protein Granola Zero Sugar."
Protein Granola Zero Sugar was meticulously developed from the ingredient selection stage to allow consumers to enjoy a healthy cereal without worrying about sugar. The granola is made from carefully selected whole grains with low sugar content, such as whole oats, brown rice, and black rice. Instead of sugar, safe alternative sweeteners like stevia and allulose are used in appropriate amounts to create a zero-sugar cereal.
Additionally, the product is rich in protein by using plant-based ingredients such as whole grains, black soybeans, and soy protein. Each 100g contains 20.5g of protein, which is equivalent to about four boiled eggs. The product combines "whole grain granola" baked in the oven for a healthy crunch, crispy "whole wheat flakes," and sweet yet slightly bitter "dark chocolate protein balls" to enhance both flavor and texture. It delivers a smooth and savory taste without any chalky or unpleasant aftertaste, addressing common consumer complaints about traditional protein or zero-sugar products.
Baek Sujin, Head of Marketing at Kellogg, stated, "It is not easy to create a zero-sugar cereal since grains naturally contain sugars, but with Kellogg's unique expertise and technology, we were able to meticulously design the product from the ingredient stage and achieve a true zero-sugar cereal." She added, "We will lead the zero-cereal market with this innovative product that not only provides great taste and protein nutrition but also eliminates concerns about sugar intake."
