On May 12, Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced that it will launch a new 375mL PET bottle version of its flagship soju brand, Cheoeum-Cheoreom.
This product was developed in response to the increasing demand for PET bottle soju. According to Korea Seven, over the past three years, sales of PET bottle soju have continued to grow, and last year, PET bottle soju surpassed glass bottle soju in terms of sales revenue. As of April this year, PET bottle soju accounted for approximately 55% of cumulative sales, indicating that the PET bottle soju trend in the home channel is ongoing.
The Cheoeum-Cheoreom 375mL PET bottle offers 15mL more volume than the 360mL glass bottle, but is sold at a lower price and is characterized by the portability unique to PET products. The product will be available in limited quantities as six-packs or by the box at hypermarkets and supermarkets.
A representative from Lotte Chilsung Beverage stated, "With the growth of the home-use PET market, we have launched the Cheoeum-Cheoreom 375mL PET product to expand consumer choice and offer the best value for money. As the first 375mL PET soju in the industry, we will do our utmost to ensure that this value-for-money soju can provide comfort to everyday people facing economic difficulties such as high inflation and high exchange rates."
