On the afternoon of May 11, the Democratic Party of Korea held an inauguration and policy agreement ceremony for the "National Harmony Committee," which is directly under presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung, in the main conference hall of the National Assembly Members' Office Building. The event was attended by approximately 1,500 people, including Yoon Yeojoon, Chief General Election Committee Chair, as well as Kim Kyungsoo, Jung Eunkyung, Kim Minseok, Jung Sungho, and Lee Sooho, Chair of the Jeon Taeil Foundation, among other figures from inside and outside the party.

The National Harmony Committee was established with the aim of resolving inequality and unfairness arising from changes in the labor environment due to artificial intelligence (AI)-based technological innovation, and to achieve harmony among the people.

The Education Committee under the National Harmony Committee serves as a consultative body for education policy that encompasses both progressive and conservative camps. Its role is to support policies so that the National Education Commission, the Ministry of Education, local education offices, and schools can focus on their primary mission of educating students.

Kim Yongtae, the newly appointed Chair of the Education Committee, stated, "I will gather a wide range of opinions on major issues in education, such as college admissions, student care, declining school-age population, human rights education, autonomous private high schools, reduction of teaching staff, and local education finances, and present a concrete vision."
